- Gather support for House Bill 195 throughout the health care community.
- Advance the number of women able to receive prenatal care including ultrasounds.
- Interact with existing state nurses' organization activities focusing our similar goals and objectives as our own.
Action Plan:
- Educate a small group of people about the bill, answer questions, and gather support through our blog.
- Contact Free clinic and Planned Parenthood facilities in our community. Ask facility representatives if they are interested in us giving a small presentation to patients and staff about ultrasound use and HR 195.
- Gather input from key stakeholders and rally support.
- Contact House representatives from our individual states and educate them about the bill and its importance to women who could not afford ultrasounds otherwise.
- Email Clifford Stearns and refer him to our blog, ask him further advise how we can further support the bill.
It is definitely a good idea to go out into the community and give presentations on this bill and the importance of ultrasound equipment. As mentioned in one of your previous posts, ultrasound equipment is expensive, and increasing awareness that there is a bill in consideration that may give funding to clinics needing them may spread the word much quicker, and may make other women who come to these clinics aware as well that they may have access to this equipment if they help participate and gather support behind you.
